Oracle certification is one of the most sought-after professional designations in the software field. Oracle 10g is the prevalent Oracle database version in North America with an estimated 90% share of all of the Oracle databases in use today. As a member of the Oracle Workforce Development Program (WDP), Algonquin College is authorized to deliver official Oracle University training using curriculum that matches the certification requirements leading to the Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Professional (OCP) designation.

Students gain knowledge in relational database design and acquire the ability to effectively write SQL statements to query and upgrade an Oracle database, manage database files and users, and plan and implement a database backup and recovery strategy. All classes are comprised of lectures and hands-on practise in Algonquin's state-of-the-art Oracle lab.

This program offers students an Oracle University curriculum and student kits, hands-on experience using Oracle 10g software, and special discount vouchers for each of the three OCP exams.
