This two-year Ontario College Diploma program is designed to provide students with an education in Internet technologies, Internet programming, and the analysis and design of enterprise Internet applications solutions interacting with databases. The program prepares students as Internet project architects with an expertise for developing software applications, such as e-commerce websites and specialized intranet solutions.
Students study topics in internetworking, TCP/IP and TCP/IP services, databases, web development, HTML and other higher-level meta tag markup languages, client side and server side scripting languages, systems and network security, Internet project management, e-commerce, middleware products, and multi-tiered web applications. The final semester project involves the development of a multi-tiered web application suitable for an Internet/intranet environment.
Students who maintain a college-prescribed academic standing and who possess the appropriate level of business communications skills can take part in a cooperative placement at the end of Level 03. Students participate in two 15-week paid work terms before returning for their final level.
