One-Year Certificate Program
This one-year certificate program is designed for students with an interest in fine art. Students explore the role of artists in society, examine how art relates to cultural identity, and gain an appreciation of the uniqueness of our Canadian culture. In addition, students receive an introduction to drawing, painting, electronic media/photography, and Canadian art history.
Graduates of the one-year program are eligible to receive an Ontario College Certificate. Graduates can apply to another program at the College or continue their studies in Year II of the General Arts and Science Ontario College Diploma program. Some credits may be considered as transfer credits towards other college programs.
Two-Year Diploma Program
The two-year diploma program begins in September (for graduates of the one-year certificate program) and in January. Year II provides a well-balanced selection of courses in the social sciences and humanities. On successful completion of Year II, students receive an Ontario College Diploma.
Graduates of the diploma program may be eligible to transfer some credits towards a university degree.
