This two-year Ontario College Diploma program is designed to train students to become fully qualified executive assistants able to work in any administrative field including select legal environments, such as, intellectual property.
The program is divided into four levels and provides students with extensive knowledge and skills in the formatting, transcription, and preparation of office documentation, an understanding of Canadian business and legal concepts, and an opportunity to apply executive office procedures. Emphasis is placed on the practical demands of the job: organizing activities, preparing professional documents, interacting with the workforce, meeting deadlines, working under pressure, accepting responsibility, and demonstrating initiative. In all four levels, students participate in simulations of office environments dealing with realistic problems and solutions. Students develop high-level word processing, presentation, Internet, email, project management, spreadsheet, and database skills in a network environment.
Office Administration - Executive students may complete three additional courses to receive an Office Administration - Legal diploma.
The program is continuously updated to meet current industry trends and requirements.
