Program eligibility
For Admission to the Technical Writer Program an applicant must satisfy any one of the following three conditions:
- Successful completion of a university degree, with a strong showing in the course work of that degree. The courses must be those for which high standards of writing are demanded. A strong showing is an A grade.
- The ability to provide evidence, on request, of excellent written communication skills that have been developed in the workplace.
- Successful completion of a three-year Ontario Community College Diploma. The applicant must have taken a minimum of two English courses in the program and received grades of A in both of them. In their community college program, students must have achieved an overall grade point average of 3.6 (A-).
In addition, students must be proficient with Microsoft Windows and word processing, preferably Microsoft Word, to an intermediate level or higher. On request, applicants must be able to supply evidence of this knowledge.
