INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

 


This Certificate Program prepares students to work in the many roles that bridge business and technology. The course stream compliments business administration knowledge with an appreciation of what is required by technical teams and a working knowledge of methods for business analysis. Students learn to research and apply technology from a strategic business perspective.
In today’s business environment, all organizations place a vast amount of investment in systems and applications. These applications hold the information that is both the result of its operations and the basis for decision making. These systems also hold a growing volume of business knowledge. Many of today’s career opportunities call for business professionals who can compliment their business knowledge with a solid understanding of supporting technologies.
This program is designed to accelerate young technology-proficient business graduates into entry level management positions with the skills to guide organizations in administering technology to better achieve targeted goals. It is intended to provide an ideal base onto which more in-depth knowledge of specific application such as Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Customer Relations Management system, Business Intelligence Tools and Data warehousing products can be added.


Transfer of Academic Credit (Exemption)
If you possess qualifications beyond the entry level of your program (such as successful completion of another college, university or professional association course), you may be eligible for a Transfer of Credit (or exemption) from an individual course. Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
PLA is a process to help you identify learning gained from life and work experiences and translate that learning into College credits - credits that could help you achieve your diploma or certificate in less time.
