Students will learn voice engineering and the technologies for carrying voice on an IP network. Topics include an overview of telephony, signaling and supervision in voice networks, providing Quality of Service in an IP network. The course also includes detailed coverage of the major Voice Over IP protocols, including RTP, SIP, H.323 and Megaco.

Prerequisite: CST6500 Internetworking Fundamentals
