Students will learn all areas of the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) technology and will be able to describe how ATM relates to other evolving network technologies. Topics include a review of basic ATM concepts on markets and applications, an in-depth review of ATM networks, ATM services, PNNI routing in an ATM network, transport of IP over an ATM network and coverage of ATM internetworking.

Prerequisites: CST6500 Internetworking Fundamentals
