Job Description  

Reporting to the Manager, Admissions, Registration and Records, the incumbent is responsible for the administration related to the admission, registration, and graduation of students. In carrying out this responsibility, the incumbent makes decisions and performs a wide variety of information sharing, academic record keeping, and financial duties. The incumbent is the subject matter expert for admissions and registration to the College Community which aids in the ongoing success of the College.

Hours of Work – 8:30 am to 4:45 pm

Required Qualifications  
  • 3-year diploma/degree or equivalent post-secondary education;
  • A minimum of 5 years full-time related senior clerical experience in a client service environment with demonstrated progression;
    • previous experience working in a Registrar’s Office in a post-secondary institution would be considered an asset;
    • previous experience with Admissions and Registration in a Community College would be considered an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and well developed listening skills;
  • Excellent client service skills; diplomacy and sound judgment is essential;
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships, supporting the teamwork structure both internal and external to the unit;
  • Proven planning skills and decision-making abilities, and ability to analyze complex situations;
  • Excellent demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task under pressure and to meet inflexible deadlines, with competing demands;
  • Ability to respect confidentiality;
  • Ability to take initiative and to work both independently and in a team environment;
  • Sound computer and keyboarding skills;  MS Office or a word processing software; including  MS Word and MS Excel preferred;
  • Knowledge of a Student Information System would be considered an asset;
  • Experience working in an intercultural environment would be considered an asset.
