Salary Range: Payband I - $32.19-$37.31 per hour ($60,912 to $70,600 per annum based on a 36.25 hour work week). The College also offers a comprehensive range of fringe benefits.

Job Description  
Reporting to the Director, Learning and Teaching Services, the incumbent provides leadership and support in the analysis, effective design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of Interactive web applications and digital resources (HTML 5, WordPress, Sales Force)  for the College including the development of applications for digital and mobile learning environments and digital textbooks.
The incumbent provides leadership in the analysis and redesign of both educational and enterprise business applications and the design, development, implementation and maintenance of complex online learning applications and resource sites including modifications, enhancements and integration of existing applications. The incumbent will lead in the development of applications designed for mobile systems including devices that operate with the IOS (Apple IPad) and Android operating systems. The incumbent provides advice to College staff on current and new applications, and application enhancements including the design, development, and quality assessment of digital textbooks and online resources.
The incumbent provides high level programming and systems level support for a team of web and application designers who are building new web based applications in epub3, InDesign, Flash, ASP.Net, and Blackboard as well as organizing and developing Web content and programming for Algonquin College

Required Qualifications  
  • Minimum of a three (3) year diploma/ degree or equivalent education in
    Information Technology, Web Development, Computer programmer, Game Development
    or Graphic Design;
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Multimedia
    Development including experience in the field of Instructional Design and
    Technology;
  • Extensive experience in the development and implementation of
    digital applications for the delivery of curriculum to students and
    faculty;
  • Proven experience in the delivery of technology training to adult
    learners;
  • Must have extensive experience with the latest versions of Adobe
    multimedia and eLearning products including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator,
    HTML, Dreamweaver, Flash, Premiere Pro, Captivate and Adobe Acrobat
    Pro;
  • Relevant experience working in an Academic setting will be considered a
    definite asset;
  • Flexible work schedule; including the ability to work
    evenings and/or weekends.
