Job Description  

The Department of Architecture, Civil and Building Science is looking for Course Developers to create training materials applicable for face to face delivery (in class or out of class) as well as online for a course in Building Systems. Produce learning resources using a wide variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation technologies. Generate multiple types of learning activities, including lectures, demonstrations, field visits, practice scenarios, and interactive exercises. Create assignments, Quizzes and projects with answers and rubrics as applicable (including instructions, documents, videos, etc.); Create exam(s) with answers and a weekly learning plan distributing course material. Work with content delivery platforms including learning management.

Area of interest for course development: Building Systems, Alternate Energy, Applied Energy management and Advanced Modeling and Simulation.


Required Qualifications  
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering;
  • Demonstrated experience related to building systems and science in equipment selection and energy analysis of residential and of commercial mechanical systems, auditing, energy efficiency, energy management, load calculations and commissioning;
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards and benchmarking;
  • Effective communication, presentation and organizational skills.
