Job Description  

Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology was named after the First Nations people of greater Ottawa. Algonquin was formed from the merger of the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology and the Ontario Vocational Centre. The College celebrates 45 years as a leader in post secondary education. The newly created role of Associate Vice-President, Academic Strategic Priorities (A/VP ASP), reporting to the Vice-President Academic, is accountable for assisting with the establishment of the strategic priorities of the Academic Division. The A/VP ASP is responsible for overseeing the overall academic area enrolment and budget through the academic programming strategy. The position is also responsible for all international education strategies and activities, the digital learning strategy, applied research, corporate training and business development, as well as academic partnership opportunities in the broader community.

Required Qualifications  
  • The ideal candidates will possess an MBA or Masters degree with a specialization in Education, Educational Administration, International Development, International Business or Strategy, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of twelve years work experience or a combination of academic environment at the post-secondary level, and experience developing successful domestic and international business ventures and partnerships is required.
  • Additional attributes include experience in college curricula and program development and an understanding of the teaching and learning process in various learning environments, including a digital learning environment.
  • Superior oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and experience working in a union environment are also positive traits of an excellent candidate.
