Job Description  

As a senior member of the Registrar’s Office management team, the Associate Registrar manages 26 full-time staff members and 20 part-time FTE’s who, in turn, serve a student population of 19,000 full-time and 40,000 part-time registrants.

The Associate Registrar, Client Service, interprets and administers academic and administrative policy in an equitable and consistent manner; manages admission, registration, student records, the Contact Centre and Service Counter, and is accountable for the admission of national and international applicants, the registration of full-time and part-time students, the maintenance of accurate student records, validation and declaration of graduates, and provision of accurate information to clients.

Required Qualifications  
  • Three (3) year Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree
  • Minimum of seven (7) years demonstrated and relevant management experience in positions of progressive levels of responsibility, including experience managing a large number of staff in a client service environment
  • Prior experience managing Admissions, Registration and Student Records policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates the College’s shared values of caring, learning, integrity and respect
  • Proven analytical skills in the interpretation of large amounts of complex information
  • Highly developed leadership skills
  • Strong management abilities and ability to negotiate and apply sound judgment, handle pressure, multi-task and manage multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Demonstrated change management skills with experience in the implementation of strategic plan objectives
  • Collaborative work habits and positive and effective interpersonal skills that lead to constructive relationships and a service oriented environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills appropriate to a large complex post-secondary institution
  • Sound financial management skills and budget experience
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Suite products, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and experience with the community college environment; would be considered an asset
