Salary Range: Payband G - $26.92-$31.21 per hour ($50,939 to $59,057 per annum based on a 36.25 hour work week). The College also offers a comprehensive range of fringe benefits.

Job Description  

Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment as part of the College’s Recruitment Team, the incumbent’s duties will include assisting with planning, developing, coordinating and implementing recruitment initiatives to capture leads and attract 1st choice applicants to Algonquin College. The incumbent has the responsibility of representing Algonquin College in a positive way, and can impact the overall first impression and reputation of the College in a range of internal and outreach activities such as high school presentations, community events, career fairs, tours etc. The incumbent will be required to use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and should be adept at using social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook. In addition, the incumbent will develop and nurture relationships with educators, parents and other influencers to raise awareness about academic offerings at Algonquin College.

Please note: Must be willing to work flexible shifts that include weekends and/or evenings. Willingness to travel moderate to extensive distances for recruitment activities and events is required.


Required Qualifications  
  • A minimum of a two (2) year community College Diploma in Public Relations, Marketing, Business or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a marketing, public relations or sales position.
  • Demonstrated competence in recruiting/sales skills.
  • Experience working in a student recruitment capacity is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools such as Salesforce is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative in seeking new opportunities and bring forward an action plan with minimal supervision.
  • High level of comfort with MS-Office, Word, Power Point.
  • High level of comfort using social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook.
  • Excellent presentation skills and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written.
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the post-secondary education system with excellent knowledge of Algonquin College programs, services, and admission procedures is an asset.
  • Successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license, be willing to work flexible hours and travel both in town and out of town.
  • Ability to communicate in French would be an asset.
