Job Description  

The incumbent is responsible for friendly, efficient service following all Algonquin College Food Services operating standards, policies, and procedures. They are to ensure proper handling of food and currency within the location by following all safety standards in the workplace. The incumbent is responsible for the ordering, receiving of orders, product rotation, inventory, merchandising, and invoice review in conjunction with the Manager. The incumbent may be responsible for the closing or opening of the location while ensuring exceptional customer service.

This is a 9 (nine) month position with an expected start date of August 19, 2013.

The anticipated working hours for this position are Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Required Qualifications  
  • A minimum of a grade twelve (12) diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Food Safety Training Certificate.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in running a kiosk in a commercial food service operation specializing in merchandising, food preparation, cash systems, equipment and customer service.
  • Through knowledge of Health and Safety procedures pertaining to food and equipment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with leadership and guidance capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to multi task.
  • Capable of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service and maintain good customer relations.
  • Ability to work with other staff and function in a team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • The ability to work flexible hours when necessary within the workplace.
  • Experience with POS Systems and strong micro computer skills an asset.
  • WHMIS certified would be considered an asset.
