Salary Range: Payband D - $21.48-$24.87 per hour ($40,646 to $47,060 per annum based on a 36.25 hour work week). The College also offers a comprehensive range of fringe benefits.

Job Description  

The incumbent is responsible to provide front line customer and client service support as well as direct administrative support to the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence departments of Architecture, Civil and Building Science (ACBS) and Construction, Trade and Building system (CTBS) which includes all its programs and activities.

Activities include but are not limited to providing welcome services to students, staff and external clients, responding to telephone, email and in-person inquiries, preparation of routine correspondence, maintaining the appointment schedules for the Chairs.

The incumbent is also responsible for all administrative support related to students such as but not limited to correspondence, grade reviews, plagiarism/academic dishonesty processing, adding/dropping courses, program council management, program advisory committee scheduling and minutes.

Required Qualifications  
  • One (1) year certificate or equivalent in office administration or relevant field
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a busy client service oriented environment
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Highly effective communication (oral and written), interpersonal and client skills
  • Ability to work well independently within tight timeframes and deadline
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to details
  • Ability to work under pressure, coordinate activities with conflicting deadlines
  • Proven ability to analyze a situation to provide information according to policies and procedures
  • Experience using a student information system such as GeneSIS, would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new office technology and to learn new software as required
  • Some knowledge of SharePoint, Visio and Microsoft Access, would be considered an asset
