Salary Range: Payband F - $24.91-$28.88 per hour ($47,136 to $54,648 per annum based on a 36.25 hour work week). The College also offers a comprehensive range of fringe benefits.

Job Description  

The incumbent provides administrative, and communications support, and management of office activities for the office of the Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Trades.

The responsibilities include liaising with departmental Chairs, Academic Manager, Budget Officer, Faculty Level Marketing Officer and Student Success Specialist on behalf of the Dean, proactively managing work cycles and anticipating the needs of the Dean, working seamlessly and collaborating with faculty and staff from both the School of Advanced Technology and the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence.

The incumbent is responsible for the coordination and organization of bursary information, and ultimately the organization and coordination of the annual Recognition Evening for donors and recipients.

Required Qualifications  
  • A minimum of a two (2) year Diploma in Office Administration – Executive Assistant or equivalent education
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant administrative assistant experience; three (3) years of which should be at an executive level
  • Some experience at a post-secondary educational institution, would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work well within tight timeframes and deadlines
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to details
  • Proven ability to prioritize activities
  • Strong written and oral communication, and inter-personal skills;
  • Demonstrated client-focused attitude
  • Advanced proficiency with SharePoint and MS Office software Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Visio, Access and Project, would be considered an asset
  • A working knowledge of typical legacy information systems used in large educational organizations (Human Resources, Communications, Student Information/Records, Client Relationship Management, etc), would be considered an asset
