Job Description  

The Manager, Learning Management Systems and Solutions Automation work with the Directors of: Student Services, Marketing, Public Relations, Finance, Human Resources, Learning and Teaching Services; Academic Deans, the Students Association and the Registrar to develop and support the Management information systems required to meet the College’s vision and strategy. Supported systems include: Payment Systems, numerous intranet systems,, student information system Learning Management System (BlackBoard), and peripherals such as BlackBoard Connect and BlackBoard Mobile the SharePoint platform and workflow development as well as various departmental systems

Works with College Deans, Directors, Chairs, Managers and others to manage the application portfolios for some Enterprise applications to ensure that the development and support activities are aligned with the College’s and the clients business and strategic objectives.

Works with the College Community to identify and create opportunities to leverage technology and business automation to improve the service and efficiency of the organization works in conjunction with the ITS Management team to ensure that policies, procedures, processes and client service delivery is consistent and seamless across teams for ITS Service delivery.

Analysis of service metrics related to the LMS and .Net environments, be proactive in adhering to the platforms’ SLA and manages the Learning Management Systems and Solutions Automation teams and contract staff in developing, maintaining and supporting the Colleges Enterprise-wide business and learning applications.

Required Qualifications  
  • A minimum of a four year Honours Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Systems/Engineering/ Information Systems or a degree in business with experience in Information Technology or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • PMP certification preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience is required in the following areas:
    • Managing an IT/IS technical support organization with extensive front-line client service experience and experience delivering in a tiered response environment.
    • Leading teams that support enterprise business critical applications, preferably in a custom developed enterprise systems environment.
    • Managing business analysis and development, including financial analysis, management and development of Management Information Systems, with preference for experience in providing integrated information support to medium sized corporation executives and users.
  • Experience with Post-Secondary Education preferred
  • Experience in managing personnel, operations and capital budgets in excess of $1M annually
  • Ability to work effectively with upper management, peers and front-line staff
  • Ability to provide presentations to senior executives about technical service delivery strategies, issues and options
