Salary Range: Payband E - $23.09-$26.76 per hour ($43,692 to $50,637 per annum based on a 36.25 hour work week).

Job Description  

The incumbent will provide administrative support to the members of the Community Studies department under the direction of the Chair, Community Studies in relation to, but not limited to:


  • Monitoring Admissions/Registration data for programs (conditional registrations, grade reporting GeneSIS assistance to staff, etc.)
  • Facilitating daily office procedures and general inquiries to faculty by providing accurate responses with respect to Office policies and College directives as applicable for FT and PT staff
  • Providing receptionist coverage as required
  • Providing administrative support for the Social Service Worker admissions process
  • Providing administrative support for the CSD On-line booking system
  • Liaising between the Chair and students and staff, including student/staff complaints
  • Maintaining contact lists for committees (student councils, advisory committees, etc.)
  • Planning and arranging meetings and special events
  • Disseminating information from the Chair to full and part time staff
  • Monitoring and requesting updates to the college web site (contact lists, additional program information, academic advisors etc.)

Required Qualifications  
  • 1 year certificate in Administration or equivalent
  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a post-secondary environment in an administrative clerical capacity
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience guiding and supporting team members
  • A mature, approachable demeanor and an appreciation for the type of work which takes place in a student-centered environment.
