Salary Range: Payband 13 - $89,578 to $119,437 per annum, based on a 36.25 hour work week. The College also offers a complete range of fringe benefits.

Job Description  
Reporting to the Dean, this position provides broad academic leadership to the General Arts and Science programs. The incumbent has complete familiarity with the academic and administrative policies and procedures of the College and is able to communicate effectively with students and staff at all levels. The incumbent ensures that the objectives of the programs are attained through effective leadership of the teaching and learning processes. The incumbent maximizes the efficiency and effectiveness of program and service delivery by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and managing and offering professional development opportunities to full-time and part-time faculty and support staff within the department. The incumbent facilitates the ongoing review of the existing programs, the development of new program initiatives and the involvement of the department in contract activity. The incumbent conducts first-level investigations of complaints from students and staff and initiates the problem-solving process. The incumbent establishes positive working relationships with other College departments, government agencies and community partners.

Required Qualifications  
  • Master’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum five (5) years demonstrated relevant experience in positions of progressive levels of responsibility
  • Experience in human resource management, budgeting, project management and conflict resolution
  • Experience in post-secondary curriculum development and management
  • Experience in entrepreneurship, marketing and developing partnership linkages
  • Proven ability to analyze situations, make independent decisions and follow up
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of College policies, procedures and programming, would be considered an asset
