Job Description
|
The primary function of the Program Coordinator of Online Learning programs is the success of students. Responding to, guiding, and advising students down pathways to success, is a critical component of this position. The Program Coordinator is expected to be client-oriented, innovative with use of technology, resourceful, consistent, and fair in his/her approach to coordinating academic activities. Key duties and responsibilities include liaising with online learning staff in dealing with at risk students, providing academic advising to students and prospective students by phone, email, or online/in-person regarding online courses/programs, learning pathways, facilitating student program planning and progression, hosting online synchronous program orientations, and completing a variety of administrative tasks related to full-time registration procedures. The role would interface with a variety of departments at the college. |

Required Qualifications
|

Related post-secondary degree/diploma and/or relevant subject matter/industry experience in one of the following areas: of marketing, accounting, human resources, or business administration

Excellent communication skills (oral, written, web-based)

Client service experience and conflict resolution skills

Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills

Ability to administer multiple and diverse activities under tight deadlines

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with various college departments
-
Proficient in use of computer-based office programs and the Internet

General knowledge of online learning/distance education is an asset
-
Use of Blackboard or other Learning Management System would be an asset

Use of social software and/or collaborative tools is an asset |
